A typical and hard working girl, Lauren Sharp had thought her life was destined to be that of a struggling student. Her degree in astronomy has given her a huge debt and no future, with a mother constantly reminding her of her failures things start to take on a turn. Just as things are starting to look up, Lauren is shocked by a phone call that sends her running back into town. As the line cuts out, Lauren finds herself suddenly trapped and overwhelmed by the ferocity of an phenomenon electrical storm that strikes her down and drags her into darkness.

When she finally awakes she finds herself beneath the cracked, blistering skies of a planet not belonging to her solar system. There she is found by a boy with machines for body parts and a robotic voice. Within a dying, polluted world, Lauren finds her self a medical miracle to those of a different dimension, of a human race far superior to her own; trying to survive on a dead planet.

Accompanied by Aidyn the cyborg trickster who has a reputation for mayhem, Lauren has to try and find her way back home before she becomes the next experiment for a human race that's gone mad.
