Blurb:

High school senior Alex Bianchi's estranged father gets her an internship at Circe Operations Center to pad her college applications. But Circe isn't your typical military base. It's an alien-run operation center and not all of the aliens are friendly, especially the one that tries to kill Alex on her first day. When Ace, a dark-eyed Caltian, enters and saves the day, she can't help but be drawn to him. Can these star-crossed lovers survive when they're on the brink of intergalactic war?(
How to Date an Alien was a fun light and very easy read. We are introduced to a very lovable heroine, Alex with her dorky glasses, social awkward skills and military father. The story was very fast paced, wasting no time with introducing the aliens and the dangers that they possess. I loved Alex from the very beginning. She did have flaws which she admitted and accepted, and didn't let other interns push her around and give her a hard time. She had a slight distance in her relationship with her father, who was the one who got Alex into the programme to help boost her extra curriculum and hopefully get into the college of her choice.

How to Date an Alien was a fun light and very easy read. We are introduced to a very lovable heroine, Alex with her dorky glasses, social awkward skills and military father. There is a slight love triangle in the story involving the hot alien Ace and attractive and eager Gavin. Gavin got on my nerves a little, especially how he wouldn't take a hint and leave poor Alex alone. I had to laugh a few when trying to picture their awkward space suits; I couldn’t stop imagining the same clothes the worms from Men in Black strut around in. I also thought it was a cute attributes how the alien ranking system was similar to high school, but unlike Alex’s human high school where she was regarded on the bottom of the food chain, in an alien institute she was instantly put on the top.

The only down fall I could see was the repetition in the story, I didn't like the whole stalkerish side of things and how Ace kept staring at her and watching her from across the room. Putting myself in Alex's shoes, that would've had me running in the other direction and not trying to get some alone time with him. It was beautiful and sweet romance, one that was built upwards with witty and playful character banter.
I enjoyed reading this book
